On June 29th, the EMT LUNA TUAS (Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System) of the German Army, took off for the first flight within the MINUSMA mission of the United Nations (UN) in Mali. Aircraft S/N 255 flew successfully for several hours, providing vital ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance – ISR) for the German Bundeswehr, which is sharing the informations with their partners. The LUNA unit from the 6th reconnaissance battalion of the German Army is now UN certified with full operational capability (FOC) status.
